Maloney, Isabelle Mary, 92 years of age, of River Hebert, passed away on March 6, 2012 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Patrick & Melvina (Godin) Shannon.
Isabelle was the postmistress for River Hebert East for 14 years. She enjoyed playing cards with her daughter Pat. She loved knitting and crocheting.Isabelle will be sadly missed by her daughters, Diane Silver (David) of Darmouth,NS, Carolyn of Amherst NS, Patricia Heap (James) of River Hebert; son, William (Diane) of Fergus, ON; sister Edna Laurette of Amherst; grandchildren, Jeff of Halifax, Jamie of River Hebert, Bill & Jimmy of Fergus, ON and her great grandson, Nathan.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 1973, an infant son, sister Leah Chorostkie; brothers, Richard, Leon , Edward & Father Wilfred, son in law Bruce.
Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Furlong-Jones Funeral Home, 70 Church St. Amherst, NS. As per Isabelle's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Mass will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas, Joggins, NS on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 3 p.m. Burial to take place in the Ragged Reef Cemetery in the spring.
