It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we, the family, announce the unexpected passing of a loving father, son, brother and uncle, John Elliot Zegray Jr. at his home in Winnipeg on Thursday, March 8, 2012, surrounded by his loving partner.
Born in Sydney on August 29, 1971, Johnnie was the son of John and Kathleen (Burt) Zegray.
He will always be remembered for his fun, carefree personality as well as his generous heart. He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his Nanny Burt and will always hold a special place in her heart. Johnnie loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, 4 wheeling and dancing. He was an avid car enthusiast and a member of the NHRA (National Hot Rod Association) and Local 1258 Construction and Specialized Workers Union. He will always be remembered for his many jokes, the sound of his laughter and his beautiful smile that filled his face.
Johnnie is survived by his best friend and loving partner Jennifer Saunders; the mother (Tracy) of his three children, Stephanie, Matthew and Andrew, brothers, Gerald 'Jerry' (Carol Ann) and Alton Edward; sister, Paula (Tim) Wright; grandmother, Catherine Burt; nephew, Stephen; niece, Alexis; uncles, aunts and many cousins.
Johnnie was predeceased by grandfathers, Clyde Burt and Gaston Zegray; grandmother, Mary Zegray and uncle, Billy Burt.
Visitation for Johnnie Zegray Jr. will take place on Wednesday, March 14 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a funeral service on Thursday, March 15 at 11 a.m., both at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel.
