The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, March 12, 2012, of Ronald James Boyce of Summerside and formerly of Tignish, in his 69th year after a courageous battle with cancer. Ron was born on Oct. 30, 1943, in Tignish, to his late parents Wilfred and Rhoda (nee Costain) Boyce. Beloved husband of Susan (nee Hogan) Boyce and loving father of Neil (Shawna) of Moncton, N.B., Rhonda (Paul) Vander velden and Craig, all of Summerside. Special Grampy to Joshua, Lauren, Liam, Breanne, Logan and Blake. Survived by his brother Bobby (Wanda) of Airdrie, Alta., sisters and brothers in-law Peggy Boyce of Toronto, Ont., Freda Kinch, Sylvia MacDonald, Wilbert (Irene) Hogan and Richard (Florence) Hogan all of Tignish, Clifford (Marie) Hogan of Halifax, N.S., Victor (Diane) Hogan of Mill River, Roy (Edith) Hogan of Summerside, Paula (Barry) Irvine of Mississauga, Ont., Wilma Maillet of Miramachi, N.B., and Chris Hogan (James Gallant) of Charlottetown. Also loving remembered by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Ron was predeceased by infant daughter Rosalie, brother Allan, father and mother-in-law Walter and Mary Hogan, stepfather John Langelaan and brothers-in-law Michael Hogan, Adrain Kinch, Bob MacDonald and Roger Maillet. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Wednesday then to the St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Ron's memory to the East Prince Palliative Care Program would be greatly appreciated.
