Thomas Joseph Terry

58, of Mount Pearl, passed away peacefully at St. Clare’s Hospital on Monday, March 12th, 2012, due to complications of diabetes. Tom is survived by his loving family: mother and stepfather, Marie (Connelly) Simms and Bruce Simms; brother Leo (Terry) Cameron and spouse Denise; brother Cecil (Terry) Reid (or ‘Wolf’, as Tom loved to say); stepbrother Herb, his wife Michelle and their girls Daryn and Rebecca; beloved niece Connie Lavigne-Terry and spouse Amy, dear nephew (Leo) Paul Terry, Aunt Joan (whom he loved to call ‘Bones’) and Uncle Frank O'Brien, and many other loved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Tom spent most of his life in Mount Pearl, but moved to Ottawa in the ’80s to be close to Connie (whom he affectionately called ‘Froggy’, and Paul (‘brother Paul’). Tom was a wonderful uncle to both of them and will be dearly missed. He was a great fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and could be found watching them every ‘Hockey Night in Canada’. Tom had a wickedly funny sense of humour, and even in later years when diabetes had taken its toll, he was always able to put a smile on the face of his friends and family. Funeral services will take place Saturday, March 17, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at Mary Queen of the World on Topsail Road; followed by a celebration of Tom's life at Marie and Bruce’s home on 48 Ashford St., Mt. Pearl.
