O'CONNOR, KING HENRY - 1925 - 2012 - King H. O'Connor, 86, of Riverview, NB; passed away at The Moncton Hospital, on Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Born in Edgetts Landing, he was the son of the late William and Evangeline (Milton) O'Connor. King had retired from Corrections Canada after 33 years service. He was a member of the Lower Coverdale United Church, where he was a Past Elder, Treasurer and Choir member, he is also a member of Trinity United Church in Riverview. He was Past Master of Sussex Lodge #4 F&AM in Dorchester, NB; a member of the Bridgedale Seniors, the Parklane Seniors Bowling League and a member of the Riverview Veterans Association. King was a veteran of WW II, having served in Italy and Europe with R.C.E.M.E. and the Carleton York Regiment. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years Helen M. O'Connor; two daughters Judy Wood (Grant) of Orleans, ON. and Charlene Hudson (Robert) of Moncton; one son Stewart O'Connor of Moncton; three grandchildren Brent O'Connor (Kim), Andrea Forrest (Brad) and Derrick Hudson (Heather T. Barlett); three great-grandchildren Taylor and Ainsley Forrest and Timothy O'Connor; daughter-in-law Sandra O'Connor of Riverview; two sisters Georgia Tower of Hillsborough, Effie Poshtar (Steven) of Hamilton, ON; two brothers Curtis O'Connor (Joey) of Moncton and Lorenzo "Joe" O'Connor of Riverview; brother-in-law Les Steele of Hillsborough; as well as nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by three brothers Doyle, Robert and Phillip and by five sisters Mary Rogers, Edna Harrison, Marie O'Connor, Della Jonah and Phyllis Steele.
Honoring King's wishes there will be no viewing at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at Riverview Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 214 Pine Glen Rd. Riverview, on Sunday, March 18, 2012 at 2:00pm with Rev Charlotte Youland officiating. Donations in King's memory made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by his family. Interment will be held at Wilmot Memorial Cemetery, Lower Coverdale, NB at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Riverview Funeral Home 214 Pine Glen Rd.
