January 18, 1975 - March 15, 2012

It is with great sorrow that our family announces the sudden loss of our loving daughter, sister and mother, Dina Salvatore.

Dina was born in Kamloops, BC, and lived there until she graduated from Westsyde Senior Secondary then moved around between Kamloops, Vancouver and the U.S.A. Dina adored the arts. She returned to Kamloops to attend TRU, and then to Vancouver Film School and Blanche MacDonald for film specific make-up and esthetics, receiving certification in both trades. From 2006 - 2011 she volunteered her nights to being called, "Snowy Owl". Being a leader with the Brownies and Girl Guides of Canada brought Dina smiles upon smiles as she gave herself completely to the young ladies who looked up to her. Her final endeavor was returning to TRU to complete her education degree.

Dina loved meeting new people, sharing stories, getting loud, driving out into the wilderness and getting lost in a good book. She was a good compassionate friend to many, many people and was blessed to have so many people reciprocate this love during her life. Dina was overjoyed at the news that she was going to have her very own little someone to love, giving birth to a gorgeous, healthy girl on February 10, 2009.

Dina leaves her spirit kindled in the heart of her daughter Scarlett, her mother Arlene and grandmother Margarita. Her passion, beauty and laughter live on in her brothers Vittorio (Megan) and Gabriele and sister Lora (Geoff). Her strength surrounds her stepfather Fred van der Werf, stepsisters Elisabeth and sons Liam, and Theo Cullen, Roosje (Mike) Jana, and Jakob Harman and stepbrother Abel van der Werf. Much love to special friends Jesse, Plum, and Trish. Also mourning her passing are her uncles, aunts, grandmother and cousins in Merritt, Calgary, USA and Italy.

Dina was nothing short of amazing. We have peace knowing she is reunited with her father Vittorio Salvatore, who passed away in 1987.

Mass to Celebrate her Life will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, BC.
