Michelle Lynne Millett - 48, of Kentville. It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend on March 20, 2012. Born on June 10, 1963 in Kentville, Michelle was the eldest daughter of Connie (Corkum) and Merle Millett, Port Williams. Michelle is survived by her parents and only daughter, Jessica Calnek, Fredericton, New Brunswick. She is also survived by her sister, Kimberlee Millett and brother, Trevor Millett, both of Halifax; as well as brother and sister in law, Phil Hendry and Michele Byers; a niece, nephews, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Michelle spent her early years in Port Williams and Wolfville. She graduated from Horton District High School and went on to attend Mt. Allison University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and also attended Acadia University to further her studies. Michelle moved to Toronto where she worked at Moorshead Publications as an executive and gave birth to her pride and joy, Jessica, with long time partner, Wade Calnek. To escape the hustle and bustle of Toronto, she returned to the Annapolis Valley to be closer to family and friends and to give her daughter the type of upbringing she had enjoyed. Over the years, Michelle was employed as an office manager with various companies in the Valley and at the Town of Berwick. In her free time she enjoyed reading, horseback riding, skating, playing scrabble, eating good food and spending time with family, friends and her constant companions, her dogs. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Kentville, where she had been involved with R.C.I.A., the Rosary Cenacle, the Hospitality Committee and Inn from the Cold. We will dearly miss her warm heart, sense of humour, quick wit, infectious laugh and big grin. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2012 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville, Father Craig Christenson officiating. Burial will take place in the Canard Burial Ground, Upper Canard. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Chrysalis House, Inn from the Cold or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. On-line inquiries may be directed to www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com.
