Maurice Bourgeois
BOURGEOIS, MAURICE - 1957 – 2012 - We are sad to announce that after a lengthy battle with heart disease Maurice Bourgeois, formerly from Moncton, passed away on Thursday, March 22 at 10:30 am in Toronto. Maurice is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Carlene (MacEachern) Bourgeois, and his faithful companion, "Buddy". He is also survived by his mother Elva Bourgeois, siblings Anne-Marie (John), Paulette (Peter) and Roland (Marie). He will be sadly missed by Carlene's family, father Ernie MacEachern (Annette) mother Florence McInnis, siblings Michael, Janice (Murray), Gary, Paul (Carolyn), Gerard (M.J.), Maureen (Brian), Greg (Cherie), Denise (Craig) and uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and grand nephews and nieces. He was pre-deceased by his father Emile and brother Donnie. Maurice will be present in our memories for his passion for music and his bigger than life personality. Moe, aka Smokey, was a man always on the go, never one to sit still. He enjoyed spreading his passion for blues. His harmonicas went with him everywhere and he was always ready to play. He enjoyed great food and fine wines—a fantastic cook, but not a fast cook and there was no way Carlene could hurry his creations. If he wasn’t busy eating, he was talking to family and friends or to anyone who would listen, strangers alike, and sometimes he didn’t really care if you were listening or not, he would continue to talk. He would meet many of his friends at the huge dog park he happily took his Buddie to for hour long walks. But most of all, Maurice was in love with his high school sweetheart, Carlene. On their 25th wedding anniversary they renewed their vows. He was a true romantic. Maurice was a one of a kind.
Services will be held at Holy Family Parish on Wednesday, March 28th at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
