Ward: Tracie Michelle passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the age of 46 in Kelowna B.C. Tracie was born in Moose Jaw, Sask. on January 29, 1966. She attended school in Moose Jaw, Sk. and graduated from A.E. Peacock Technical Institute. She obtained a B.A. (Fine Arts) and B. Ed. (Arts Education), U. of R. and a Certificate of Arts Admin, The Banff Centre for Management. Tracie was employed in Arts Management for more than twenty years. Most recently as Executive Director of the Rotary Centre for the Arts. Tracie’s accomplishments far exceeded her years. Her interests were varied and many, including travel, kayaking, gardening, and creative pursuits. She valued her network of close friends and was a tireless supporter of the Arts. Tracie is survived by her mother Norma Tanton of Moose Jaw, Sk.; father Ken Ward (Mary) of Chaplin, Sk.; her sister Corliss Ward, Okotoks, Ab.; nephew Chaz Breen, Calgary, Ab.; niece Kirsten Breen, Calgary, Ab.; and nephew Josh Breen of Okotoks, Ab.; and numerous relatives of her Ward and Lamoureux families. A Celebration of Tracie’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at First Memorial Funeral Services , 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Okanagan Hospice House. A celebratory tea will be held in Moose Jaw at a later date.
