ELIZABETH ANNE ROBINSON

Born In: Senlac, Saskatchewan, Canada
Born: May 9th, 1920

Passed in: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Passed on: March 31st, 2012

On March 31, 2012 Anne died in Calgary from the flu surrounded by family. Anne always enjoyed a party so she would have loved this.

Mom is survived by her husband of 65 years Boyd Robinson. She is also survived by her children Larry (Carla) Robinson, Shelley (Dave) O'Grady, Shannon (Doug) Fraser and Nan Robinson, grandchildren Kelli (Mike), Andrew, Shane, Kelsey, Kate and Libby. Mom recently welcomed her first great grandchild baby Mia to the family.

Mom was born on May 9, 1920 in Senlac, Saskatchewan to Lettie and Charlie Hellyer. She was the oldest of 4 children. She was at heart always a teacher. Her first teaching job was when she was 17 years old and consisted of 52 students from grade 1 to 12. Mom retired from teaching high school in Kamloops and Logan Lake in 1982. Our kitchen table was our classroom at home. She was either helping us with our homework or moderating the discussion of the day.

Mom met Dad in the air force during WWII. After finishing university at UBC they made their home where ever Dad had a project to do. Square dancing was a passion with them both and helped them make friends quickly all over the world. After retirement Mom and Dad spent their winters in Mesa and their summers at their beloved Leighton Lake.

At Mom's requests there will be a private family celebration of her life. Donations to a charity of one's choice would be greatly appreciated.

The family would like to say thanks to the staff at Colonel Belcher who cared so well for Mom in the last couple of years and continue to care for Dad.

Mom went through a time where her favourite poet was Ogden Nash. Instead of learning a poem like ABC, when we were kids, we learned "The Germ" A mighty creature is the germ, though smaller than the pachyderm, His customary dwelling place, is deep within the human race. His childish pride he often pleases by giving people strange diseases. Do you, my poppet, feel infirm? You probably contain a germ.

Goodbye Mom. We love you.
