BARSNESS: 1916 ~ 2012 - Harry Barsness of Medicine Hat, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the Havenview, South Country Village on Sunday, April 1, 2012. Harry was born at Antelope, Saskatchewan on December 18, 1916. He married Josephine in 1939 and they farmed at Webb, Saskatchewan for many years before moving to Medicine Hat in 1964. Harry is survived by his son, Sheldon (Carol) of Webb, SK; daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Strand of Calgary and Evelyn (Wayne) Cummins of Medicine Hat; daughter-in-law, Sally Barsness of Sherwood Park; 11 grandchildren, Carla (Murray) Spanier, Evan (Tina) Barsness, Ryan (Bobbi) Barsness, Aaron Barsness, Lindsey Reynolds (Tyler), Kurtis Kantrud (Jodi), Kelly Johnston, Bradley (Susan) Barsness, Marcia Cummins (Gord Page), Jennifer (Josh) Pino and Brent (Megan) Cummins; and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Louis (June) and Walter Barsness of Swift Current, SK as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Josephine and a son, Keith both in 2007; a granddaughter, Amber Barsness in 1976. as well as three half brothers, Ottar, Lorne and Wilhelm Rossen; a sister, Myrtle Broten and two brothers, Melford and Art Barsness. Harry received wonderful care at Havenview where he spent his last year.
