1977 ~ LONG ~ 2012: Patricia Danielle Long of Medicine Hat, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 31st, 2012 at the age of 34 years. Patricia leaves to cherish her memory her son, Nicholas Jackson Long; her parents, John and Beatrice Long of Morse, Saskatchewan; her sister, Sheri (Tim) Ostoforoff of Martensville, Saskatchewan; one nephew, Gage and three nieces, Hunter, Jaeda, and Ashtyn; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Patricia was predeceased by her grandparents, Nick and Virginia Friesen, and Howard and Pat Long. Patti was born in Herbert, SK and grew up in Morse, SK. Living with spina bifida meant numerous trips to Saskatoon to undergo surgeries and for doctor’s appointments. During that time, she was selected as Easter Seal Tammy in 1989 which was highlighted by meeting the Duchess of York. She regularly attended Camp Easter Seal which she fondly cherished. After graduating from Morse High School in 1995, Patti attended the University of Regina. She transferred to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1999 where she attended Medicine Hat College. While there, she became heavily involved with the Peer Support Group, tutoring and participated in numerous charitable programs. Throughout this, she made many friends who quickly became a big part of her life. In 2006, her son, Nicholas was born and he became the center of her universe. In all aspects of Patti’s life, she represented a strong will and determination that would inspire those around her. She was a true example of the notion of if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. She will be sadly missed by all of those who had the good fortune to know her. The Funeral Service will be held in the MORSE COMMUNITY HALL on Friday, April 13th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Linda Stumpf officiating.
