Passed peacefully away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital on April 4th, 2012. “Smithy”, 92 years young, was predeceased by his wife Isobel, sister Mona, brother Doyle and sister-in-law, Lorraine. Leaving to celebrate his life: son Sandy (Holly), grandchildren Andrew (Rebecca), Yolaine, sister Jean (Cam) Adey, as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Pam his angel on Earth and Clement his caregiver. Thanks to the staff of 7 East, St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Visitation will be at Broughton’s Funeral Home, Brigus on Monday, April 9 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A service to celebrate Alton’s life will be at Broughton’s Chapel, 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10th.
