Robert (Bob) Everett Hudson

Passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving wife and family at the Hoyles-Escasoni Complex on Monday, April 9, 2012 at the age of 67, following a courageous and lengthy battle against Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Born in St. John’s on January 24, 1945, Bob was predeceased by his parents Everett and Frances Hudson and leaves to mourn his wife Bonnie (nee White), daughter Alethia, step-daughter Tracy (Ryan), step-son Chris, brother Keith (Valletta), sister Heather (Warren), brothers-in-law Carl, Fabian and Bill; sisters-in-law – Geraldine (Bob), Lillian (Bill), and a number of nieces and nephews. Also, a large circle of extended family and friends, including many Masonic Brethern. Bob’s life-long passion was his membership in the Masonic Order. Over this time, he served in all of the official positions and played an instrumental role in the establishment of the Grand Lodge of Newfoundland. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and then on Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. A funeral service will be held at Wesley United Church, Patrick Street, St. John’s, on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m., with interment at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, James Lane, St. John’s.
