
George Dexter
DEXTER, GEORGE - At the Falls Villa (Grand Falls Manor), April 7, 2012, Mr. George A. Dexter of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 88 years. He was the husband of the late Alice McDougall. Born at Tilley in 1923, he was a son of the late Warren and Josephine (Hannan) Dexter. Mr. Dexter retired in 1983 as General Manager of the F.W. Pirie Potato Company where he began his career in 1949. He was a veteran of World War II and a member and Past President and Past Treasurer of the Royal Canadian Legion, Grand Falls Branch 21. George is survived by three daughters, Eva Rideout (Louis) of Grand Falls, Elizabeth Dexter (Edward Wiley) of Bristol and Elaine Bilodeau (Claude) of Montreal, one son, Warren of Grand Falls, 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two sisters, Jean Reynolds of Presque Isle, Maine and Betty Dexter of Fort Fairfield, Maine, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, two sons, David and Daniel, brother, Warren and sister, Lena Bishop.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Thursday, April 12th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Royal Canadian Legion members will have a tribute service Thursday at 7:30 p.m. His funeral service will be held Friday, April 13th at 10:30 a.m. from O'Regan's Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Leblanc of the Anglican Church officiating. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Grand Falls.
