Joan Vicaire died on March 30, 2012 in Huntsville/Algonquin Grace Hospice, Huntsville, Ontario, at the age of 92.
She was born on March 8, 1920 in London, England, to parents George William Rowland and Winifred Eagles. On Nov. 29, 1958 she married Alexis Vicaire, predeceased, in Stoney Creek, Ont. Beloved wife of the late Alexis. Dear mother to Lynne Manary (Bill) of Utterson; Lance (Karen) Robinson of Victoria, B.C.; Lisa (Chris) Arntz of Guelph; Lorne (Jacqueline) Robinson of Edmonton, AB; Joyce Vicaire of Huntsville. Loving grandmother of Janna, Megan, Conor, Patricc and Bryana; great-grandmother of Regan; sister of Hazel Sadlowski; predeceased by brother Percy Rowland and sister Joyce Stilgoe. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Joan worked as an elementary school teacher for many years. Her hobbies included crossword puzzles, reading (she always kept up with the daily newspapers), she loved watching tennis on television and her favourite movie was Titanic.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice Huntsville would be appreciated.
