MacDONALD, JEAN G. - 1929 - 2012 - Black River Bridge - Jean Gertrude MacDonald, widow of the late Atchison J.R. MacDonald, of the South Black River Road, Black River Bridge, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the age of 82. Born in Chatham, on September 27, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John A. and Beatrice (Jardine) Lobban. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge. She is survived by one daughter, Carol Duplessie (Emile), of Black River Bridge; two sons, Dale MacDonald (Mary), of Manilla, Ont. and Todd MacDonald, of Oshawa, Ont.; two brothers, David Lobban (Carmel), of Upper Napan and Parker Lobban (Jeannine), of Sudbury, Ont.; three grandchildren, Nicole, Tanya, Angie; five great grandchildren, Samantha, Courtney, Devin, Destiny, Trinity; one great great grandchild, Lincoln; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Atchison, in 2009; one son, Gary MacDonald; one grandson, Joey MacDonald; one sister, Betty Shepherd; three brothers, Norman, Jimmy and Richard Lobban.
Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Thursday only, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from St. Stephen's United Church, Black River Bridge, on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 2 pm, conducted by Penny Postlethwaite. Interment will be in the Black River Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Diabetic Assoc., the N.B. Lung Assoc., or any charity of the donors' choice, would be appreciated by the family.
