It is with broken hearts and great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother and grandmother Christina McLean on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at the Cove Guest Home, with her family by her side.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Christina Davies.
She enjoyed knitting and taking care of her plants. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. Chris will be missed by all who knew her.
Chris is survived by her children, Jane (Bucky) Confiant, Marion Bridge, Irene Fayette, Wendy (Jimmy) Mombourquette, Albert, Bruce (Sheena MacLennan), Doug, all of Sydney, David (Heather), Langley, B.C.; her loving grandchildren, Laurie, Robert (Melissa), Jamie, Hannah, Keigan, Jason (Ann), Christa, Meghan, Emily and Damon; five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Irene Coyle, Glasgow, Scotland; son-in-law, Brad Ellison; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Chris was predeceased by her husband, George McLean, daughter, Diane Ellison, sisters, Annie and Muriel, brother, Bertie.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2012, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Thomas Whent officiating. Interment to follow in Eastmount Cemetery, Whitney Pier.
