Andy was born in Fredericton, N.B. on October 4, 1971, the son of Allison and Virginia (Hossack) MacPhail. He is survived by his parents and two brothers: Peter (Mary McGinn) of Rothesay and Scott (Simone Nowlan) of Fredericton. He was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth who died in 1998. Andy is also survived by six adoring nieces and nephews: Skene, Madeleine, Reid, Robyn, Alexandra, and his great old pal Joey; one aunt on his father’s side, Marion Peterson; five aunts on his mother’s side: Sylvia MacPhee, Gloria Higgins (David), Jackie Libbey (Harry), Mary Felszegi (George) and Kathy Davidson (Keith); one uncle, Don Merrill; and numerous cousins and close friends. Following a period of teaching English in Korea, he completed the ITI Technical course. Upon graduation he was employed in Boston by Health Vision, moving to Dallas shortly afterward where he enjoyed a successful career. Andy enjoyed his work and was committed to giving it his all but still managed to have a great social life and time to travel extensively. His twice-yearly trips to New Brunswick were highlights for both him and his family. With such a great outgoing personality, Andy made many friends in every part of his life. He will be remembered for his ever present smile and ability to put everyone at ease.
A visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home in Fredericton on Monday, April 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
