Thibodeau, Joan Merina – 75, Truro passed away April 25, 2012 in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Halifax, January 5, 1937, daughter of the late Norman and Olga (Arnold) Hopkins, East Jeddore. She was the youngest of three siblings, Phyllis, Bruce and Carrie, who died in infancy. Joan was a graduate of Miss Murphy’s Business College and worked for more than nine years for the Department of National Defense, Halifax Dockyard. She is survived by her husband Arcade “Archie” Thibodeau whom she married in 1958 in Halifax. Also surviving is one daughter, Anne Merina Thibodeau (Kevin Vaughan), Halifax. Cremation has taken place. A prayer service will be held on Friday, April 27 at 2 pm in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro with Father Dariusz Miskowicz officiating. Private interment in Watson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan’s name may be made to a charity of choice.
