Born: July 11th, 1927

Passed in: Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
Passed on: April 25th, 2012

With great faith in his God, William Reid (Bill) Killorn, Halifax, passed away on April 25, 2012 after a brief illness. Bill was born in 1927 in Saint John, NB, a son of the late Matthew and Mabel Killorn. Bill was a wonderful husband to Lucille (Leger), and father to Michael (Janet), Patrick (Laurie), Barbara (Kevin), Stephen (Tammy), Maureen (Jim), Matthew (Cindy), Frank (Chris), Paul and Robert (Paan). He reserved a special place for his 15 grandchildren, Bill, Tess, Peter, Jake, Max, Marc, Spencer, Katie, Alex, Rachel, Julia, Sam, Lily, Jackie, Lindsay, and last but by no means least, his cat, Sasha. Bill married the love of his life, Lucille, in 1952 and, together, they spent the next 59 years dedicated to one another, their children and grandchildren, starting first in Digby and then on to Charlottetown, Woodstock, Saint John and Halifax. Bill devoted his entire working life to National Drug, retiring after many years of service as its Vice-President and General Manager. The hallmark of Bill’s life was his generosity - his first greeting to all was “What can I do for you?” Bill and Lucille spent their early retirement years in Prince Edward Island where they enjoyed the company of many good friends and family. They moved back to Halifax in 2005 to be close to a number of their children. Bill was predeceased by his parents, brother, John, and sisters Blanid Bowes and Mary Collins. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other caregivers at the QE II for their compassion and care. Visitation will take place at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Road, Halifax on Thursday from 7-9pm and Friday from 2-4 pm and 7-9pm. Bill’s life will be celebrated with a Mass at St. Ignatius Church, 1288 Bedford Hwy, Bedford at 1:30pm, on Saturday, with internment to follow in Saint John, NB. Donations may be made in Bill’s memory to the charity of choice.
