Couillard (Nelson) Anne Marie – 96, Bridgetown formerly of Granville Centre, passed away in Palliative Care at Mountain Lea Lodge, with her family by her side. Born in Elgin, Ontario she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Margaret (Flemming) Dwyre. Anne’s family was very important to her. She especially looked forward to family gatherings that included every year in July celebrating her birthday an on every December 26 (her first husband Norman’s Birthday); she enjoyed bowling, bingo, crib and cards, she was a very serious player who was always up for a challenge and wanted to win. She enjoyed taking seniors shopping and dances with Lorettes, Ladies of Leisure a line dancing group and a member of W.I.N.S. Anne and Norm raised six children in a big farm house. In 1964, they bought one of the first “Kent” homes in the area. After Norman retired they spent the winters in Florida. Norman passed away in 1984. She then was remarried in 1991 to John Couillard. In June 2010 she moved into Mountain Lea Lodge. Anne graduated in 2011 as valedictorian in the school program at Mountain Lea Lodge. She is survived by her children, Tom (Evie); Margaret (Jim); Norma; Bill (Sue); Ray (Louise) and Chris; several grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two great greatchildren; sister, Theresa, Barry Ontario; brother, Dr. Bill Dwyre, Aiken, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Norman Nelson; second husband, John Couillard; brothers, Leo, Joe and Harry; son-in-law, Don Nickerson. Cremation has take place under the care and direction of Kaulbach Family Funeral Home, Annapolis Royal. Visitation was held Friday April 20 with prayers by the C.W.L. Funeral Mass was held Saturday April 21 in St. Louis Catholic Church, Annapolis Royal with Father Henry Smolenaarus officiating, a reception followed. Private family burial will take place in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Annapolis Royal.
