KEAN, Dr. Gerald Thomas (1922-2009) — It is with love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dr. Gerald T. Kean, obstetrician and gynecologist on Dec. 18, 2009 at the St. Patrick’s Mercy Home. Leaving to mourn with beautiful and loving memories are his devoted wife June; son Peter (Margi MacLeod) Riverview, New Brunswick; daughters Sherri (Andy Miller) St. John’s, Valerie (Dr. Andrew Hutton) St. John’s, and Lisa (Dave Thompson) St. John’s. Eleven adored grandchildren: Luke and Mark Miller; Leslie and Sarah Kean; Lelia (Jason Pinela), Zachary (Melanie O’Brien), Keely and Abram Hutton; Rebecca (Andrew Perry), Christopher and Emily Thompson. Sisters Daphne Kean, St. John’s, and Louise Miehle, Philadelphia. Predeceased by Gerald’s parents Dr. Cecil and Lelia Kean; June’s parents Herbert and Kathleen Butt; Gerald’s brother Donald; brothers-in-law Ray Miehle and Donald Pinder. Many other loving relatives and special friends. We are very grateful to Dr. Roger Butler, Dr. Anne Williams, Dr. Michael Kennedy and the devoted staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home for their kindness and special care. Visitation will be held on Sunday Dec. 20th and Monday Dec. 21st from 1-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Carnell’s Funeral Home. Funeral to be held at Gower St. United Church on Tues. Dec. 22 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow.
