MacDONNELL Malcolm Leroy Jr. “Mackie”
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Mackie, 82, on Monday, April 30, 2012 at QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born in Woods Harbour, he was the son of the late Malcolm Sr. and the late Elva (Jeffrey) MacDonnell. He was predeceased by brothers, Ralph and Eric; sister, Phyllis. He was a devoted husband of 61 years to Ella (Nickerson) MacDonnell; loving father to son, Brian and adored grandfather to Candi Daley (Scott) and Chad MacDonnell (Stephanie) and great grandchildren, Jason and Maya Daley and Taylon Stewart. He is also survived by brother, Jack MacDonnell (Shirley); sisters, Jean Goreham (Neil) and Ruth Stoddard (Lewis) and many nieces and nephews. Mackie lived his entire life in Woods Harbour working as a fisherman. He was well known in the community for his kindness and sense of humour. At Mackie’s request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greenwood Cemetery, Woods Harbour, or the charity of choice.
