It is with sadness we must announce the death of M. Johnena Weatherbee of Springhill, NS. Johnena passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the age of 81.
Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Wesley and Lillian (Reynolds) Kempt.
She was a member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary and enjoyed playing darts, cards and reading.
She will be sadly missed by sons, Charles "Bubs" (Brenda Grant) Weatherbee, Springhill and Gordon "Butch" (Elaine) Weatherbee, Mississauga, Ontario; daughters, Faye (Eric) Brooks, Dartmouth and Debbie (Hubba) Guthro, Springhill; brother, John (Silvea) Kempt and sister, Florence (Leslie) Dow both of Nappan; 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Percy C. Weatherbee; daughter, Elizabeth, brothers, Fred and William; sisters, Katherine and Lavona.
Arrangements are in care of A. H. Brown Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Springhill, (902 597 2361) A graveside service was held at the Hillside Cemetery on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11 am, with Major Max Snow officiating.
