The death occurred at the Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown, on Thursday, May 3, 2012, of Kay McQuaid (nee Arsenault), beloved wife of the late Stephen McQuaid, of Cornwall and formerly of Lot 65, age 89.
Kay was the loving mother of Wayne (Hilda), Derrill (Marianne) and Ronnie (Lori); cherished grandmother (Granny) of Lisa, Krista and Jody; Melissa, Jason and Kevin; and Candice, Colby and Jenna; and great-grandmother of fourteen. She is also survived by her sisters, Jane Wedge, Hilda DesRoche, Josephine DesRoche (Gaudet) and Eva Bernard; and sister-in-law, Bertha Arsenault.
Kay was predeceased by her husband, Stephen McQuaid, foster sons, Gordon and Byron Shea; parents, John A. and Mary Judize (Gaudet) Arsenault; sisters, Bella Gallant and Louise Handrahan; and brothers, Amie, Eugene, Nelson and Aldon Arsenault.
Visitation will be held at the Father Clare Macdonald Lounge of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Cornwall on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. Interment in St. Anne's Cemetery, Emyvale.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
