The death occurred suddenly at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I. on Friday, May 4th, 2012 of Elric Joseph Gaudet of Summerside and formerly of the Linkletter Road, P.E.I. , aged 92 years. Veteran of World War II . Elric was born on January 27th, 1920 in St. Nicholas, P.E.I. to his late parents, Leo F. and Madeline (nee Gallant) Gaudet. Beloved husband of the late Theresa (nee Poirier) Gaudet. Loving father of Gary of B.C. and Ray of Alberta and lovingly remembered by his one grandson. Survived by his sisters Hilda (Tanton) Landry of Summerside and Marie (Gus) Gaudet of St. Nicholas and his brother Cedric of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Carolyn Gaudet and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and wife, Elric was predeceased by his brothers Clarence (Theresa), Herbie and Leonard; his sister Frances (Alfred) and five brothers and sisters in infancy. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, May 8th, then to St. Paul’s Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Visiting hours on Monday evening only, 6 – 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Elric’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to St. Paul’s Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #5, Summerside will hold a Service of Remembrance on Monday evening at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
