They retired to Ludlow on the beautiful Miramichi River where they lovingly restored their 100 year old house. She hand made beautiful quilts and gave most of them away as gifts. She loved to play bingo with her daughter, Carol, her bingo buddy. She spent countless hours playing cards and especially loved beating her grandchildren at Crazy 8’s and Contract. She had a wonderful sense of humour and always welcomed guests into her home. We the family, would like to thank Dr. Tanya Wood and her staff at the Boiestown Health Centre for the tremendous care given to Lila over the years, her homemaker, Nora Stewart for loving her, the staff of 4E at the DECRH and to Rev. Gray for speaking to Lila wonderful words from the bible on her last day to help her pass from this life to her next. She was talking the other day about all the people waiting for her and she said “Look out heaven, here I come”. Heaven is a much more fun place now that she is there.
