In Loving Memory of James George Hunter March 9, 1941 - December 16, 2007 We sadly inform you of the passing of Jim after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 47 years Chris; his son Russell (Tara), two grandchildren (the joy of his life) Bennett 8 and Sophie 6. He also leaves one brother Ron (Nessie), nephew Jamie, niece Leslianne, also foster sister Audrey (Lawrence), foster brother "Gibby" and other relatives. Jim was born in Winnipeg and moved to North Burnaby at the age of 5, where he became life-long friends with Hibbert, Bob, Gerry and Jeff. At age 17 Jim began his 37 year career with the BC Government. Jim always loved outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, camping and traveling with his wife. He enjoyed many years with slow pitch teams and refereeing senior hockey. Jim was very involved with the Masonic Lodge and its concordant bodies; he was a past Master of Mt. St. Paul lodge #109, and also a past president of the Kamloops Shrine Club. Jim's family would like to extend their appreciation and "thank you" for the exceptional, professional and compassionate care extended to Jim by the doctors, cancer clinic, hospital staff and also the ambulance attendants who transported him to Kelowna. A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Jim will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at St. Paul's Cathedral (4th and Nicola Streets.) The family wishes that any expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Royal Inland Hospital foundation for the children's ward 311 Columbia Street, Kamloops, BC V2C 2T1 or to the Shriners Patient Transportation Society c/o Gizeh Shriners 3550 Wayburne Drive, Burnaby, BC V5G 3K9.
