With great sadness, we must announce the passing of John Ward, a family man and dedicated Parks Canada artisan with over 25 years of service. John was a man who exemplified trust, honour, integrity and courage.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan, he was the son of the late Eric Davison, raised in Ontario with his Mom and Dad, Wilma (Taylor) and Gerry Ward.
After visiting Cape Breton in 1976 with his wife Carolyn (Cann), he fell in love with the island and soon built their home where they raised their children and many foster children together.
John is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn; his son, Joe; daughters, Brandi, Hope and Angela; foster children; and granddaughters, Isabel, Victoria and Carolina; siblings, Terry, Roxy, Eric, Kim, Shelley, Rick, Wendy, Roger, Danny and Debbie; and many nieces and nephews.
John was predeceased by his brother, Joey in 1976, father, Eric, parents-in-law, Robert and Shirley (Trenchard) Cann.
