SONMOR, (nee CHRISTIE) Enid Darlene 1946-2007 Darlene passed away at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home on December 13, 2007 at the age of 61 years, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Darlene was born in Nelson, BC, where she went to school and graduated from LV Rogers High School in 1964. She moved to Calgary, Alberta in the sixties, and then returned to B.C. in the nineties to the Kamloops area, where she spent the rest of her life. Darlene is survived by her three daughters Samara (Chris) George, Shalla (Sheldon) Guertin and Sarin Burke as well as her parents, Loretta (Sally) Maglio and Charles Edward Maglio, her sister Wendy (Rick) Nichol and her brother Wayne Maglio.†Darlene was also a cherished Noni to her five grandsons and one granddaughter. Darlene was an amazing woman. She never gave up. She battled her cancer with her whole heart.† We will miss her smile, her no-nonsense advice, her comforting presence, and her brilliant heart. We will remember her every time we see a hummingbird, or stitch a needlepoint picture, each time we taste a Christmas cookie. She was a wonderful mother and friend, and she will be sorely missed. The family would like to thank Dr. Scott Montgomery and the staff at the Summit Medical Clinic as well as all the staff at the Hospice Home for all of their care and support. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Darlene's name to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, 300 -1090 West Pender Street, Vancouver, British Columbia, V6E 2N7, or to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Crescent South, Kamloops, B.C V2E 2S9. At Darlene's request there will be no formal Funeral Service held. The family will be holding a small memorial service in the spring, and people needing more information can contact Shalla Guertin through email at shelg@telus.net
