Tom McKenzie of Moose Jaw passed away on May 18, 2012. Tom was born in McCreary Manitoba on November 29, 1918. He is predeceased by his parents, James and Annie McKenzie; bother Ross; sister Mary Mauthe (Charlie); two nieces and two nephews; brother-in-law Ernie Single (Marg). Tom is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Dorie; son Nelson; sister-in-law Nola McKenzie; nephews Russ, Randy, Roy McKenzie and their families; brother-in-law Her Single (Shelagh); nieces Sandy Ryan (Mike), Louise Anderson (Russ), Marily Mauthe and their families; nephews Clarke Single (Shirley), Cole Single (Julie), Drew Single (Cindy)and their families. Tom spent four years overseas during World War II with the RCHA. He farmed for a few years, bought grain for the UGG and worked for the board of grain commissioners until his retirement. Tom enjoyed stamp collecting and carpentry work and in 1961 he built our own home. He very much enjoyed having coffee with his friends. But most important of all were his family and friends. He was always willing to help people and never put himself ahead of others. Tom was a very special Dad to a special son. Tom was a member of Minto United Church for 54 years. The Funeral Service will be held at Minto United Church on Thursday May 24, 2012 at 1:30pm. Reverend John Carley will officiate. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to Minto United Church Memorial Fund, 1026 7th Ave NW, Moose Jaw, S6H 4C4. In living memory of Tom, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J.
