Passed peacefully away at the Agnes Pratt Home on May 21st, 2012, Frances Steele, aged 86 years. Born in Mapleton, Nova Scotia, raised in Amherst, N.S., came to Newfoundland in 1954 to work with the United Church of Canada as a Deaconess. Leaving to mourn her loving and devoted husband, James; her daughter Heather (Fred Morrissey); her son David (Shirley); and two grandsons: Jimmy and Matthew Steele; also mourning the loss, her sister Olive Martin in Caledonia, N.S; sisters-in-law: Isabelle Atkinson of Bay Roberts, N.L. and Doreen Steele of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont..; numerous nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. To the staff of the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home, including past director Linda Collingwood: We are overwhelmed with appreciation and gratitude for all that you did for Frances in the almost five years of care you provided.
