Lowell Gallant, of Miramichi, N.B., passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the age of 71.
Born in North Rustico, P.E.I., he was the son of the late Douse and Winifred (Gauthier) Gallant. Lowell was a retired school teacher and a member of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, in Miramichi.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Susan (Adair) Gallant; two daughters Jennifer Lewis (Shawn) of Moncton, N.B., and Gillian Gallant of Toronto, ON; four sisters Eunice Gallant, Sheila Gallant, Nancy Gallant, and Betty McKenna, all of North Rustico, P.E.I.; two brothers Wayne Gallant (Gloria) and Harvey Gauthier (Delores), both of North Rustico, P.E.I.; one sister-in-law Joan Gallant of North Rustico, P.E.I.; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers James and Herbie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Belvedere Funeral Home on Friday, May 25, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at 1 p.m., from Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, North Rustico, with Father Floyd Gallant presiding. Interment will take place in the church cemetery.
At the family’s request, please no flowers. Donations may be made to the NB Extra Mural, or to a memorial of one’s choice.
