Irving Milner, Norma Millicent, age 97 died at Grand View Manor, Berwick NS on May 23, 2012. She was born on September 26, 1914, the only child of Wilfred and Jeanette (Hiltz) Newcomb, in Greenwood Square, Kings County. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Milner. The couple farmed at Greenwood Square until his heart attack in 1984. Norma was very active in her community: in her church, as a 4-H leader, as a Red Cross volunteer and teaching piano to neighbours’ children. They left their home in Greenwood Square and moved; Bill to Grand View Manor and Norma to Fundy Villa in Berwick to be near him. Bill died in 1989. Norma met and married her second husband, Fred Irving at Fundy Villa. He died in 1998. In recent years Norma has resided at Grand View Manor. She is survived by close friends, Beverly and Albert Wolfe; Charlotte Dexter and her stepchildren; Davelyn Hubley, Dawna Berkshire and Frank L. (Marion) Irving, all of the Halifax area. By request, there will be no visitation. A Graveside Interment Service will be held in the Union Church Cemetery on the 14 Wing, Greenwood Base at 1:00PM, Monday May 28th with Rev. Elizabeth Johnson officiating, followed by a Remembrance Tea at Fundy Villa, Berwick at 2:00PM. Those wishing to attend the Graveside Service are asked to be at the Main Gate, Central Avenue - 14 Wing Greenwood by 12:30PM. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street; (902) 825-3448. Donations in memory may be made to the Aylesford United Church or SPCA – Kings County Branch.
