Ralph Lawson Schofield - 90, formerly of West Brooklyn, Kings County, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 in Evergreen Home for Special Care, Kentville. Born in Hortonville, Kings County, he was the son of the late Lawson and Reta (Lyons) Schofield. He served with the Canadian Armed Forces in the Royal Signal Corps from 1942-1969. Following his military service, Ralph worked with the Federal Public Service, retiring in 1982. He is survived by his wife, the former Catherine Fitzgerald; a sister, Josephine (Don Beckwith), Martins River; three sisters-in-law, Mabel Schofield, Mary Schofield and Esther (Gordon) Eastwood; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three brothers, Russell, Claude and Burnell. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. There was no visitation, by request. A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 in St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Cemetery, Ridge Road, Wolfville, Father Larry Pitcher officiating. A reception followed in the White Family Funeral Home. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
