Passed away peacefully at the Rosewood Retirement Centre in her 104th year.
Born in Sydney, N.S., she worked as a secretary at the Dominion Steel and Coal Company for a total of 30 years. At the young age of 86, she moved to Kingston to be near her daughter, Janet McDonald, and made many new friends with her friendly personality.
She was predeceased by her husband, Gladstone Macdonald and is survived by her daughter, Janet (Arthur); four grandchildren, Bruce (Alexandra), Heather (Andrew), Ross (Carrie), Fraser (Ilena); eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Edith Rankin Memorial United Church, where a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. Committal of her ashes will take place in Sydney at a later date.
We will always be grateful to the staff at the Rosewood – nurses, personal support workers and other staff for their genuine caring support during the eight years she was a part of their Rosewood family.
