Shirley Anne Shaikh (nee Vessey)

Shirley Anne Shaikh, beloved wife of Qayum (predeceased) of fifty years, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the age of 76 years.
Shirley was born in Charlottetown, P.E.I., and attended Prince of Wales College before heading out west to find the love of her life, Qayum. Shirley worked in a variety of office positions until creating a career with the CBE, working at Nickle and Lord Beaverbrook. She was a fun loving and energetic role model, who always put her family first. She will be remembered for her laughter, singing, and being the world's best grandmother.
Shirley is survived by her son Ameer (Marie) and daughter Ayesha (Gerry); grandchildren Kaylee, Phillip, Deven and Bryce; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to a joint funeral service honouring Shirley and Qayum at McInnis & Holloway’s Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E. Calgary, AB) on Friday, June 1, 2012 at 2 p.m.
