JANZEN, Anna (Neustaeter) was born on March 16, 1921, to Aron & Anna Neustaeter in Chortitz, MB. Five years later the family moved to Schoenfeld, SK. Anna spent her childhood years in Schoenfeld. The year 1940, was a very significant year for Anna. She was baptized on her confession of faith in the Zion Mennonite Church in Swift Current and 1940 was also the year she married Peter Janzen. The first few years of marriage meant many moves to work for farmers and garages. Then came the move to Pambrun. It became a wonderful place for Peter and Anna to raise their children and grow old. Some things that were very important to Anna: Music - When the children were gone from home she took piano lessons. Travel - Trips to Disneyland, Toronto to see the Blue Jays play baseball, Mexico and other places created many good memories. Reading - Anna was a lover of books. Along with her passion for reading was her commitment to journaling. Faith - Anna’s baptism started a life long journey of faith. Through the years Anna worked at the Vanguard hospital, as a custodian at the local elementary school and as a baker at Millar College. She loved the work at Millar because it gave her the opportunity to interact with the staff and students. We will remember Anna’s energy and spunk. She was not afraid to try new things even starting swimming lessons at age 65. Anna was a nature lover and recycler long before it became popular. She loved animals, the night sky, gardening, and God’s great creation. Anna stepped into God’s presence early Friday morning, May 25, 2012, after a brief stay in the hospital. Anna will be missed by her children: Janette & Al Cartwright, Betty & Fred Wiebe, Clifford & Edith Janzen, Phyllis Janzen; son-in-law, Art Lemon; 8 grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; her brothers, Ike & Ruth, Bill & Irene, Jake & Helen, Abe, Glen & Betty; her sisters, Elizabeth, Kay & Ivan; and by a sister-in-law, Helen. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; a daughter, Shirley, a great-grandson, Nicholas; her brothers, John and Aaron; and by her sister, Mary. The Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at 2:00 pm from the Millar College of the Bible, Pambrun, SK with Pastor Gary MacKay and Cliff Janzen officiating. The Interment Service preceded the Funeral Service and was held at the Pambrun Community Cemetery, Pambrun, SK. In memory of Anna Janzen, donations made to the Cypress Hills Camp, Box 786, Maple Creek, SK, S0N 1N0 would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
