WESTVILLE - John Alexander “Alex” Wright, age 62, of Westville, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 in Grand Prarie, Alberta.
Born in New Glasgow, on May 27, 1950, Alex was a son of the late George and Mildred (MacLeod) Wright.
Alex was a coal miner, having worked in the Drummond Mine, Westville and Westray Mine, Plymouth. He also worked construction as a scaffolder and carpenter in Fort MacMurray.
He is survived by sons, Jeremy and Jason, Ontario; brothers, Hughie (Anna), Caribou; Edward (Pat), Calvin (Audrey), and Carl (Kim) all of Westville.
Alex was predeceased by his wife Joan (Coady); sisters, Betty Slaunwhite; Audrey MacDonald and Doreen; and infant brothers, Irwin, and George.
Alex is resting at Eagles Funeral Home, Westville with visiting on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 35, will conduct a service at 6:30 His funeral service will be held 2 o’clock Tuesday from Eagles Funeral Chapel, Westville with the Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Burial will be in St. Bees Cemetery. www.eaglesfuneralhome.ca
