BOWER, Lawrence Alton, 80, of Shelburne passed away at home on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 with his family by his side. Born in Birchtown he was a son of the late Farnum and Flora (Acker) Bower. In his younger years Lawrence worked for Dauphinee’s Memorial Art, in the woods for Herb Harris and for Roseway Construction. He also operated his own taxi stand. Lawrence worked for the Department of Transportation for over 30 years operating heavy equipment. He enjoyed deer hunting with his sons, cutting wood and helped build his own home and his sons. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, the former Leah (Reid) Bower; sons, Mark, East Jordan; Michael (Nancy), Jordan Branch; their four children, Natalie (Kory) and their daughter Kaley, East Green Harbour; Marshall (Nicole), East Green Harbour; Laura (Jean-Michel), West Pubnico; Cody (Shara), Yarmouth; Mark, East Jordan.; special sister-in-law, Edith Bower; special friends, Wayne Cameron and Charles Swansburg; brother, Howard (Marjorie), Berwick; He was predeceased by brothers, Harold, Manus, Maurice and Gerald; sisters, Annie and Edith. The funeral service was held on Saturday, June 9 in H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne, with Rev. Joanne McFadden officiating. Interment was in Pine Grove Cemetery.
