It is with great sadness that the family of Deborah Skinner (nee Delaney), announce her passing at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, on June 5, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer. Debbie leaves to mourn her husband Alan of 36 years; daughter Sabrina (Jamie) Hawkes and grandson Talan Hawkes; son Steven of Stephenville and daughter Sierra of St. John’s. Debbie was born to Christina and the late Frederick Delaney of St. George’s, NL, on July 25, 1955. She is sadly missed by Fred (Liz) Delaney of St. George’s, Penny (Joe) Arruda of Brampton, Ontario; Sean (Loretta) Delaney of Meadows, NL; Cindy (Ron Anderson) Delaney of Meadows, NL; Paul (Lee) Delaney of Comox, BC; Fran (Dave) Lewis of Corner Brook, NL; Bill Delaney of Mississauga, Ontario; Nadine (Danny White) Delaney of St. George’s, NL; and foster brother Randy (Susan Jensen) Young of Fort McMurray, AB. She dedicated many years of her life to volunteerism, notably with the local and provincial branches of Girl Guides of Canada and Civil Air Search and Rescue. She loved to cook, knit and crochet, but she also enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid camper and salmon fisher. Cremation has taken place, at Debbie’s request. A private memorial will be held. The family request that in lieu of gifts of sympathy, donations be made in Debbie’s memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or local Relay for Life cancer fundraiser. Debbie had a smile and a laugh that was infectious to those around her. She loved life, and her family. To say that she will be missed would be a great understatement. We love you.
