BASS, RUTH ELSIE - (1930 - 2012) - Mrs. Ruth E. Bass of North Head, Grand Manan Island passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on June 10, 2012. Her life was expressed through the words of a very dear hymn to her, “Day by Day”. Every day the Lord Himself is near me with a special mercy for each hour; All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me, He whose name is Counsellor and Power, The protection of His child and treasure is a charge that on himself he laid; “As thy days thy strength shall be in measure” This pledge to me He made. A Faithful, prayerful woman of God, gentle in spirit, quiet in gracious giving; a mother whom any child would be blessed to call “Mom”. May we fashion ourselves after her. Lovingly, her children: Anne Hamm of Fredericton NB, Mary (Thomas) Baker of Charlottetown PEI, Joy Bass of Saint John NB Steven (Heather) Bass, Nathan (Karen) Bass, and Judy Bass all of Grand Manan, NB. Eleven Grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ruth was predeceased by her husband William (Bill) Bass in 2004 and son David Bass in 1998.
By Ruth’s request there will be a graveside service for her immediate family on Tuesday June 12, 2012 at the North Head Community Cemetery with Rev. Ed Shaw and Rev. Ron Ford officiating. Following the graveside service there will be a drop in reception at the North Head Baptist Church from 7 to 9 pm and all are welcome.
