STEEVES, BRIAN CURTIS - 1946 - 2012 - Brian Curtis Steeves, 66, of Goguen Residence, Moncton and formerly of Hillsborough passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2012 at the Moncton Hospital with his loving family by his side. Brian was born in Moncton on February 16, 1946 the son of the late Herman Steeves and Thelma Steeves-Savoie of Lower Coverdale. Brian grew up in Hillsborough on a farm , lived in Moncton many years with M.C.R.I. and really enjoyed the past few years at the Goguen Residence Special Care Home. Brian was a unique person who loved his family, and quickly endeared himself to others. He treasured times spent with his siblings and Mom . Friends were numerous as he assumed every person he met was a new friend. He also loved spending time at METS (Moncton Employment Training Services) where he had an extended family of co-workers. He had an appreciation for simple joys such as music, children, cats and dogs. Brian knew with all certainty that he would go to Heaven. He has now made this journey and is happy to be with his Dad. His remarkable presence and personality will not be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Thelma Steeves-Savoie of Lower Coverdale; sisters, Carolyn Chafe (Terry) of Hamilton, ON, Brenda Wilmot (Mac) of Lower Coverdale, Susan Kervin (Brad) of Cambridge, ON; brothers, Wendell Steeves (Roxanne) of Albert Mines, Clayton Steeves (Debbie) of Lower Coverdale and Kevin Steeves (Carolanne) of Ottawa; two step-brothers, Claude Savoie (Claudine) of Moncton and Neri Savoie (Jackie) of Hudson, New Hampshire. He will also be missed by several aunts, uncles, friends and by his nieces and nephews who loved having an “Uncle Brian.” Brian battled his health issues with courage. He was predeceased by his father, Herman Steeves; step-father, Armand Savoie; brother, Burton Steeves.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Thursday, June 14th, 2012 at 3:30pm with Rev. Ken Rains and Rev. James Hammond officiating. Interment will be in the Grey's Island Cemetery, Hillsborough, NB. In lieu of flowers donations to the Moncton Employment Training Services would be greatly appreciated by the family.
