Debra Ripley
t is with great sadness that the family of Debra Gail Ripley age 52 of Upper Nappan, announce her passing on Monday, June 18, 2012 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of Gayle (Mill) Smith of Amherst and the late Bruce Smith.
Debra worked at the Skillet Restaurant at Zellers for 16 years and also at the Hampton Diner in Fort Lawrence for 5 years.
She was a member of the Fenwick United Church, C.G.I.T., the choir, and she taught Sunday school for many years.
She was on the Hot Tamales team for the Relay for Life, in the last two years.
In her younger years Debra was an avid skater and a member of the Amherst Figure Skating Club.
Debra is survived by her husband Paul, daughters Tammy (Jeremy) Arsenault of Upper Nappan and Paula Ripley of Amherst, one sister April (Joe) Dale of Fenwick and nieces, nephew, several cousins, aunts and uncles.
Besides her father, she was predeceased by one brother Steven.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. (902-667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. from Campbell's Chapel with Rev. Pam Bowman officiating.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or the Fenwick United Church.
Interment will take place in the Fenwick Cemetery.
