Amy Gertrude Suttis

Suttis, Amy Gertrude 83, Truro passed away peacefully June 21, 2012 at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in Milton, Queens Co., she was a daughter of the late Angus and Bertha (McCombs) Manthorne. Amy loved her Buick and often took her friends to yard sales and on Sunday drives. She was a faithful member of the Truro Heights United Baptist Church and the Ladies Circle. She enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together. A cruise to Alaska with her daughter was one of the highlights of her later years. Amy always brightened a room wherever she went and she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Doreen (Paul), Chernoff, Calgary, Alta.; son, Douglas (Ann), Williamswood, N. S.; sisters, Gladys Cooke, Liverpool, Verna (Art) McIntosh, Kingston, N. S., Hazel Manthorne, USA; brother, Sterling (Mary) Manthorne, ON.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; sisters, Bertha, Irene, Evelyn; brothers, Bevan, Maurice. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 24th from 2-3 pm followed immediately by a memorial service, both in Truro Heights United Baptist Church, 343 Truro Heights Road, Truro Heights, NS with Rev. Greg Porter officiating. Interment in Riverside Cemetery, Bass River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stroke Club of Truro or the Truro Heights United Baptist Church.
