MOOERS, WILLIAM WALDON - W. Waldon Mooers of Bear Island, NB passed away June 22, 2012 at York Manor. Waldon was born at Bear Island, NB in 1924, a son of the late William W. and Lena P. (Moore) Mooers. He was a mechanic by trade and operated a service station in Bear Island before his retirement. Waldon was a supporter of Sandy Cove Bible Camp at Davidson Lake and served on the Board of Directors for several years. He was a member of the Bear Island Union Church and served the church as a Deacon and Sunday School superintendent. Before moving to York Manor a year ago he had lived six years with Lorne and Audrey Cole in Temperance Vale, NB.
Waldon is survived by a sister-in-law, Phyllis Mooers, Bear Island, NB and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Merlin Mooers.
Visitation was held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Sunday, June 24, 2012 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Albert Dean officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Island Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vernon Corey, Kevin Keetch, Bill Wyers, Stephen Mooers, Stanley Mattatall and Charles Mattatall. The suggested charities are Sandy Cove Bible Camp or the Bear Island Cemetery.
