John will be remembered as a kind and thoughtful man who enjoyed, family, art, nature, and cooking. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family. He lived a full and satisfied life and maintained a positive attitude and strong spirit while enduring Parkinson's Disease for 17 years. He is survived by Ena, his loving and supportive wife of 64 years; children, John (Rosalind), Jean, Diane (Dave Murphy), Max (Diann), David (Carol Anne); grandchildren, Tammy, Kristie, Kelli, Shelley, Paul, Sara, Ryanne, Ian, Scott, Dana, Stephanie, Lauren, Sydney; six great grandchildren; sisters-in-laws Ruth and Inez; brother in-laws, Russell and Max (Phyllis); a large circle of nieces and nephews, friends, and close family friend Nellie Murphy. Predeceased by parents, John and Martha; brother Hedley; sisters, Elizabeth and Maude, and son in law, Charlie. Funeral Services will be held at St. Augustine's Anglican Church at 2:00 on June 28, 2012, followed by the interment at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Russell's Funeral Home from 2-4 and 7-9 on June 27. In lieu of flowers, donations are kindly accepted for Parkinson Society Canada, Bay St. George Sick Children's Foundation, Canadian Hemophilia Society, The Anglican Church, or Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital.
