William Ralph ‘Bill’ Young passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.
Born in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, son of the late Ralph and Olive Young.
Bill served in the Royal Canadian Air Force, eventually being posted to Sydney where he met his love of 59 years.
Survived by his wife Lillian (Hill), son Darcy (Darlene), granddaughters Stacey Young and Cheryl Minkoff (Ken) and four great-grandchildren Ty and Madelyn Minkoff/Megan and Jakob (Young) Anderson, as well as many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends whom Bill loved so very much.
Bill along with Lil were the owners of Young’s Sight & Sound Ltd., in Sydney for many years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner (Philae Temple).
At Bill’s request his remains have been donated to the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at Dalhousie University.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
