Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, December 31, 2009, Joan Slade of Western Bay, age 84 years. Predeceased by infant daughter: Ella; parents: Joshua and Sarah Ryan; brothers: Jack, Ivan, David and Clyde. Leaving to mourn, husband: Jethro; one daughter: Ella McCann, St. John’s; son-in-law: Edgar McCann, Carbonear; two sons: Percy (Karen), St. John’s and Johnny, Western Bay; five grandchildren: Brian, Curtis, Patrick, Sarah (Robbie) and Joshua; two great-grandchildren: Jayden and Ethan; brother: Richard (Shirley) Ryan, St. John’s; sister-in-law: Ruby Legge, Twillingate; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Interment in the United Cemetery, Western Bay North.
